Refer to my post on this thread (post 19) I agree with you - they don't fit.
Kind of reminds me of the Cavalier convertibles of the 80's (Sunbird, too)
They had that black box under the car to support the unibody with the cut off roof..and it showed on the 'non-performance' versions. The Z24 hid the box behind GFX.
