This whole thing has been fishy - enough so that I'm ready to walk. GM would not accept early orders (i.e. that would go through) for V6 cars - you had to order SS's (in order for the factory to accept it) yet I've seen V6 after V6 on the road...
and dealer after dealer with cars on ebay...
They are lucky they still have customer like you willing to give them the benefit of the doubt!)
I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt, I'm just giving the facts. Built = 3800. Why would they have two codes that mean the same exact thing? 3400 is "broadcast" which is when they gather up all the parts so the car can be built. It is basically the beginning of the actual build.

When those things left the line - the tires literally squealed on their way out the door, and they were on a truck, through the gates, and on their way to greener pastures in an hour.

So, either the QC was about something REALLY bad - or there is something fishy - I'm opting for fishy...
Things have changed. Your anecdote is exactly the kind of stuff that caused GM quality issues in the past. They're finally taking it more seriously. If something isn't right, it's getting fixed before it leaves the plant (or as soon as they know something isn't right).
