That sounds odd to me, but I'm sure he knows a lot more about this stuff then I do. I assumed that anytime you force that much more air into the motor you would need to adjust the fuel to keep the AFR where it needs to be to keep it from going lean.
Maybe the computer can make the adjustments off the MAF? I'm a big chicken and would rather tune it than break something.
