Actually, the bane of youthful "exploits" was the advent of the console. Before those (or if you didn't option the car with one), if everyone was just the right size, it was amazing the amount of space you could use
between bucket seats...although carpet burn was always possible...
Bench seats? Who needed a
Super 8?! Back in "those days", a super-8 was something to record family gatherings...NOT allowed at the "submarine races".
