On the ZL1 they use the same strut tower bar. The GYs have unusually firm side walls. Tire side walls are part of the suspension. As the OE engineers tuned the MRC for the ZL1 they found the strut tower bar allowed them to tune with more consistency.

We think the strut tower bar creates more understeer. Our OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational cars do NOT use a strut tower bar. We like the slight flex in the towers and find we have less understeer without one. It makes our cars faster. Before you ask, there has never been a faster 5th Gen on track with a Pedders prepared Camaro. Ask around and see if anyone has documented a faster lap time by adding a strut tower bar with full data to back it up. You'll be waiting a long time.

What would it do on your 2010 6. Look cool. If you like the look add one to your car.
For clarification the ZL1 uses a different strut bar than the NA convertibles. It is larger and it has to be higher to clear the SC
