I had a feeling it was a V6 once I was on the highway, I didnt pop the hood till I got in to where we were staying and I called Hertz asap. Not seeing the mail slot and listening to the startup of the engine should have had me turned around and back in the office instead of starting the drive to where we were staying. The badge was the SS on the rear. I guess just having stayed up for 24 hours coming from Fiji would have made me just want to get in and get to sleep at the time

Yes, I agree with that, as I had mentioned I wouldn't sue. I did get the rate knocked back down to what I was going to pay for a full-size so I am happy for myself.
I do want Hertz to tell me how this would happen, and I would also want them to refund anyone else that rented this car and paid the SS rate.
If anyone wants to see my rambling video walk around showing the car the link is below (car walk around starts at 2 minutes):

If I could drive it across the Pacific and swing by Pittsburgh to prove it I would. I would also pick up a Primanti's on the way back for the long Pacific voyage. It isnt BS, its for real. Dont know how much more I could do to prove it.
As I've said, Im not really looking for anything from Hertz, just want to know how this happened. And that I wasnt crazy that it was actually a V6.
