This is the 4th Camaro I've owned and will probably not be the last. Strange how the '13 GT500 comes out and finally Ford wins the bragging rights title and now, suddenly, Camaros are, and have been, inferior for the duration of the pony car war. I have a different recollection of the history of this war, but my perception may be biased by brand loyalty-induced stupidity.

Ford won the bragging rights with the 5.0 over the SS. Hell even the 2011-2012 GT500 out did the ZL1 at the drag strip.
I certainly do remember the 1998-2002 LS1 powered Camaro SS (and z28 too) being faster than the 1998-2001 Cobra (Ford did not build a Cobra in 2000 or 2002)
In 2003 (Cobra came out in Spring 2002) it was again faster than the LS1 SS/Z28.
The LT1 years vs. the 4.6 DOHC Cobras were a toss up as both cars were running 13.5-13.7's
5.0 GT vs. SS LS3, the 5.0 is the faster vehicle. ZL1 vs. GT500 2011-2012, GT500 is still faster, 2013, it was a no competition.
2013 1LE vs. 2013 Boss, 1LE is showing to be a better car.
I'm not judging your reasoning for liking a Camaro, I am just saying I find brand loyalty to be dumb.
