If there is no dirt on the car, then there should not be a problem. If your shammy has any dirt on it, then that's a no-no. Why not simply use a microfiber towel and some quick detailer? Honestly, if the car is driven, it will get scratches and spider webs on it as it cuts through the air containing lots and lots of particles. I know you want to minimize this, though.
