I've lived in the Rockies like 2SSONLY, and he's right, you really are better off putting your car in a low gear than riding the brakes for miles at a time. It's easier to control (so it's safer) and it keeps traffic flowing more smoothly. That being said, you can do the same thing with the Camaro's automatic thanks to the handy dandy tap shifters.
