I also remember receiving a Corvette that had the optional polished wheels,but inside the package in the car (the one that has all the books,manuals,floor mats,etc.) were "non-polished" painted center caps for the wheels.
I know you would think someone at the assembly plant would notice,but like I said,I've seen some pretty strange stuff on brand-new vehicles right off the carrrier.

i remember reading a story here not too long ago where someone bought a new camaro, and it had 3 polished wheels, and one was something else...so yeah, strange things happen sometimes lol...he still took it home and was happy with it while the dealership was getting him his 4th wheel
