I worked at a dealership body shop for several years and we fixed all kinds of cars that had shipment damage (or damage from being on the lot)...we had to repaint roofs, doors, quarters...and replace bumpers.
I had to replace an entire quarter panel on a brand new Avalanche (someone hit it with a snow plow)....and yes....they still sold it as new.

Then they also took the red SS off the old one! So if that's the case then it's the dealer that knows something.
