I don't know why this argument always happens. For whatever reason, it seems to be impossible for some people to cohere when these threads come up. If you don't read Vader's posts emotionally, they make very simple points.
If you can run LTs legally, then they are better than shorties + HFC. Period. Run shorties + HFC if you live in California, or if you don't want to tune.
Simple as that.
