Yup, I'm pretty sure they only go by the base cost of the car instead of trim level. I went from a V6 to a certified V8 also and the price remained exactly the same since the difference on the actual car value is very small.
Allstate also does not have in-house commercial auto, but the info they pass onto 3rd party company still won't specify the engine trim of the car...... which is very good for the V8s and the turbo4/6s in the world
