What do you make of this?!

Here is the conversation:

Dave: Can AFM be turned off in an auto, 2013 Camaro 2SS by shifting into paddle shift mode or any other way...

Neskens D: If you are in paddle mode or manual shifting the AFM system is automatically deactivated. In automatic the system act independently of the drivers input. Its activated by determining the vehicle needs horse power and torque. When on the highway and cruising the engine will use its cylinders as needed. You cannot activate nor deactivate the system on your own.

Dave: But, if I'm in manual mode, it will stay off?

Neskens D: The 2 SS uses both Active Fuel Management and sequential fuel injection. When in manual you will be using the sequential fuel injection.

Dave: Ok. Sorry but I just want to be clear. Whether I am driving in a neighbourhood or cruising at 100km/h on the highway, as long as I stay in manual mode, the AFM will stay deactivated?

Neskens D: Yes your understanding of the system is correct, at low speed or cruising if you are using the manual system, your active fuel management will not engage. Allowing you to use all the power you would like to get out of car.

Dave: Thanks so much for clarifying.

I purposely asked a few times to make sure I was reading it right...
