Hmmmmm good question. It was an impulse purchase. We were looking at the A4 and simply trying to decide between two colors. Moonlight Blue but that was in transit and a Silver car. Both equipped exactly the same. So we were going back and forth and I decided on Silver. So we went out to the lot to give the car a better look and a porter drives up in a a White S4. We were actually looking at a White Certified Used A4 so we really liked that color as well. Well I looked at the sticker on the S4 and it's equipped exactly as we would have speced it out ourselves. As I said, the mistake was going for a drive.
Comparing to the ATS 3.6L AWD
The Audi is .5 seconds faster to 60, 4.9 to 5.4
Audi has full time AWD, not on demand
Audi gets 2 mpg better highway mileage and from experience the Audi will deliver at the speeds I drive while the Cadillac will not.
And having had the Audi, Audi service is by far the best we've experienced, even though Cadillac may be better than other GM dealers. We haven't owned a Cadillac.
Brakes, Sport Differential, Audi Drive Control, Alcantera Leather.
Not sure if Audi connect is anywhere close to OnStar, which we really like.
Audi does not come close to CUE or the haptic touch on the controls. A nice advantage for the Cadillac.
But in final conclusion, the Audi offered better performance, albeit for more money, than the Cadillac.
ATS wins in the style arena though. But Audi makes up for it in refinement.
Oh, and the Audi trunk holds 2 sets of golf clubs with ease. The ATS has room, but it's a tricky fit not much room for any other luggage.
