So last night I was driving home in my other car, and the tire separated. The sidewalls were still on the wheel, but the rest of the tread was mangled in the wheel well. So I am not thrilled with the idea of only having a can of fix-a-flat and an air pump... I also live in the boondocks, so it takes GM/AAA about an hour to get out to me if I have a problem. I actually had the spare on before I got a call back from AAA letting me know they found somebody who would drive out to where I was at 11pm.

I ordered a 2SS, and it should be in next week. From what I am reading here, my options are call GM/AAA and get towed (to where?) or carry a full-size spare around (pretty much taking up the whole trunk). Talk about a choice of lousy options!

I think what I'll do is order a full replacement tire and keep it in the garage. If I get a flat I'll get a tow to my house and swap the tires there.

On the plus side, a Sheriff's deputy was helping me change the tire (OK, he held a flashlight on the tire while I was working), but I got a chance to talk shop with him about the Camaro.
