If one picks up a set of kooks and a set of OBX headers and looks at them without having any clue where they come from or which 10 year old made them, only one thing really stands outside of the subtle differences...the price diifference. And there is really no major difference in quality or function between the two. There is still only the price. They are both stainless steel headers and they both work.
Anyone got dyno numbers of the two?
So what fool will pay double the price for what amounts to the same thing? Nuff said!!! And to fault the individual who did save 500 bucks is audacious because it implies they should have just handed tha extra money away like it doesnt matter...and we all know IT DOES.
Normally when something i do isnt as good as something the other guy does, the last thing I do is throw myself on the floor and have a hairy coniption and make an ass of myself. What I do is take notes and do what I have to do to compete. That's because the competition isnt taking a break to watch me cry, nor do they care.
Does kooks concede defeat? Or are they going to compete? Because the American who is sitting in his hot tub drinking up on his OBX header deal is laughing all the way to the bank...and it seems clear that it isnt to any detriment of any customers. They seem happy with what they got.
It's none of anyone's business who buys what and no one has any say in the matter and it's nice to see that people with a smaller budget have options as opposed to being excluded.* It's nice to see someone can stretch the money they have to do more.
Ultimately, the ones who cry on this subject every time it's brought up will be shopping at wal mart soon enough if they dont start being competitive and stop being sore.
Bickering is a waste of time.
We once made almost all of the cars in the world...but because of the greed mentality that no longer works and all of the bickering and refusal to compete...how much of that market do we own now? uh huh.
Header manufacturers take note.

Good thoughts POS Dakota. I agree with you that a person should be allowed to purchase what they want and not have to defend it to a self riotous brand bragger that acts like all they do is support US brands only regardless of price. Nothing wrong with paying more if that's your choice. But certainly nothing wrong with paying less for a header that performs very close to its competition. Is is equal quality? NO. But it does perform like it and that's what we're modding for!! Nobody should be jumping on anybody about their purchases! Period!
