I never got anything in writing, 'cause like I said, he said if local dealers were giving better deals then he'd give me a "fair" deal. So I went back once and got 4k knocked off because of my list of local dealers taking MSRP and 500/1000 down. I figured that you guys getting MSRP through him would be the straw that would break the camel's back, and I'd end up getting MSRP too. And he made it sound like he would get FIRED for knocking another thousand off. So I asked him why GM made the MSRP as low as it is. He never answered, only said "Well I guarantee you that it will be going up in October." Or some BS like that.
I got financing through the dealer for the speed and ease of it. If I can get a better rate on my own, I'll just switch over.

Well I'm lucky too, that I got to spend 1k over and get my car a few weeks before you guys, right? Lucky, just like the people who one day decided they wanted to get a Camaro, walked onto the lot to see what was there, and put down 5k over MSRP and take it home the same day... only I had to wait nearly 8 months.

I never had anything in writing with Rick over at Camino Real Chevrolet... just a handshake. When the car was ready, I went, took him pre-approval check, did the normal DMV paperwork, and contract, done. He never even tried to offer (upsell), what dealers normally do,, such as extended warranties and the like.

That's how it should be.
