THIS is what you fail to see. The Civic is not the competition for the Camaro. The Challenger and the Mustang are and to a lessor extent the Genesis. Those are all they care about. Most people don't cross shop a Civic and a Camaro. They are different customers. If you can't fork over a few more dollars to get a option you want then don't buy the car or live without it.
By your reasoning why can't Honda get with the program and offer a Civic with a powerful V6? Why does it still have an underpowered 4cyl? Hell it doesn't have a V8 either! Why don't they offer one? It's not even an option. How can one of the worlds largest and most successful car companies not offer a V8? It's stupid!
