Yeah. Certain times of the week/year are pretty nasty up there. Both times I've gone have been on Saturdays. Last year, my cousin and I (he has a Dodge Viper) went the Saturday before Labor Day.
Yeah, I know what you're probably thinking, but actually there wasn't hardly anyone on the road that day. We were both baffled by it. We both fully expected to see a lot of traffic with it being Labor Day weekend and all. We even went through it three times that day and only saw TWO cops the whole time...and that was actually on the way to the base of the road on the Tennessee side. The Cherohala Skyway (spelling?) is really fun, too. Combining it with the Dragon basically makes for a really long but fun loop.
I don't mean to poor salt in an open wound, but do you know when you're expecting your car?
