This weekend I started experiencing this problem too. After reading this thread I cleared cookies and cache and all is working fine again. Also tried multiple browsers and had still had the problem until clearing cookies.
One thing I did notice is when logging in to C5 the remember me checkbox is checked by default which is good, but C7 it is not checked.
