Hey guys, I`m new to the forum, although I have done plenty of reasearch on this website, I felt like it was time to register and join the community, everyone has been super helpful and now I have a question of my own i`m hoping ya`ll could help with.

After purchasing my 2012 1LT w RS Pckg, I got straight to modding. One of the first modifications I had to do was improving the sound and tone of the stock exhaust. I couldn't throw out 575$ or more for a better quality / toned exhaust, so I decided to goto the local exhuast shop and I had the Flowmaster 40 series dual axle back exhaust installed for 280$.

Now, my question is what can I do to improve the sound? I would like a deeper tone / growl to the exhaust, less rasp as well. In my research it seems like a resonator delete, with a 2.5 - 3" straight piping would improve the tone and make it deeper perhaps? Also, I was wondering if deleting the resonators and adding straight piping, along with a magnaflow resonated x-pipe might help reduce rasp, but I do not want to take away from the deeper tone, etc by adding the x - pipe.

Thanks in advance for everyone`s help guys, my car is currently in the shop getting the rims powder-coated black, I hope to take the car back to the exhaust shop Tuesday to look into improvements of sound.

I think you should go for it. The exhaust setup is similar to mine (except I have cherry bombs), and I never looked back.
