actually that bottom pic looks like a wrap. Maybe someone who knows can chime in but from my experience neither of these options are going to be as durable as paint. However the plasti dip method is probably your best option because I think it is easier to fix and it's cheaper. There have been several people who have plasti dipped their whole car. Do a search for it.
