That's true of any part, actually.
Recall that unless the filter itself caused the issue, you can use whichever brand is designed for your car without voiding the warranty. Which is on the dealership to prove. Not the sole fact that you used a Wix filter instead of a Delco.
If I recall correctly, under Magnuson-Moss, if a manufacturer required their branded part to be used in order to maintain warranty, they must not charge for that part. Why do you think they "certified" other brands of oils to be dexos use compatible?
That said, I've never had any issues with ACDelco filters.
