Do you want GM to ship you a car that doesn't work? Extended QC checks are part of the process for alot of the cars. You should feel lucky that yours was picked, since they go over them with a fine-tooth comb and will fix anything found, and look for known past issues.
Don't worry about someone else's car. There have been cars delivered with VINs' in the 10,000 range before some in the 1,000 range.
