Well it's looking like my mufflers will NOT be replaced under warranty since the car is modded and the dealer found no TSBs and has never seen this issue before. And I'm fine with the no warranty coverage but now that I'm looking at changing my mufflers possibly yo aftermarket, I'm torn with the fact that I really like the dual mode factory mufflers. just drop the exhaust cut the can's open and see if you can fix it. then weld them up. the welds to the top side of the muffler would never show.
the guys with Z06's used to cut the can's open seal off the perforated tube then weld them up to get more volume.
billy boat offers a dual mode aftermarket but it is not cheap.
this is a factory defect and there are documented cases so I would push back a bit. the fact your car is moded is not causing this even though they are tying to say it is.
I really like the sound clips of the stainless works exhaust though as well.
