Ok....all done. Thanks so much to everyone who responded with such detailed descriptions on how to get to these wires. It made it sooooo much easier. Here are some pics from the install.
Here s the drivers door after removing the speaker and opening up the wrap. The red/white wire almost bit me in the face when I unwrapped it. It was literally like right there...waiting to be used. The black/gray wire was also easy to find. This install couldn't have been easier.
As you can see, I cut about 12" of red wire and black wire to actually tap into the power and ground. I attached quick-connects to the ends and they will connect to their mate on the other end of the light wires. That way If I need to remove the door panel, I can completely remove it by just disconnecting the wires. I routed the wires from behind the speaker out through the hold that is just left of the speaker.
Same thing for the passenger side...very easy to find the wires.
Again, tapped into the wires, quick-connects on the ends and routed through the hole to the right of the speaker.
As soon as it gets dark over here, I will take some pics of the finished product.
