That's good. That will help reduce rotational mass with the larger diameter wheels. It's a combination of overall weight and distance from center that reduces performance (acceleration and braking). Then you have the lack of sidewall that makes it harder the tires to hook up.

But if you get lighter weight wheels, it will definately help negate some of the performance difference vs. 20" wheels.

And for guys that love racing, they can always get an extra set of wheels (17" or 18") with drag radials for the track.
