The marking on the head is the property class of the metric bolt. Property class defines hardness and tensile strength

8.8 = Rockwell C22-C32 (M5 thru M16)
8.8 = Rockwell C23 - C34 (M18 thru M39)
10.9 = Rockwell C32 - C39
12.9 = Rockwell C39 - C44
