Here's my story:
I was expecting my car to arrive at the dealership sometime in mid to late June, but I was slotted to attend Army Pathfinder School on June 12th. Somehow I knew that my car would arrive when I was gone, so I notified my dealer and he said that he would look out for her if she happened to arrive in my absence.
Three days into the school, I get an email from the dealer, "She's here, are you?" Typical.... So now I have to wait the next 11 days wondering, waiting, anticipating.... I sent my girlfriend to the dealership to take some photos so I could sleep at night knowing she was being taken care of. The best part is that the black stripes got to be put on while I was gone so no return trip to the dealer!!
Yeah.... about that... So my girlfriend calls the day after the stripes get put on and she says, "Honey, we have a problem." Sooooo many things were going through my mind on that one. Anyway, she sends me a pic on the phone and goes on to say that the stripes look like a$$. I check out the pic and she was right. It looked like there was dirt underneath the stripes or little tiny bubbles in 3"-4" spots... it was horrible. So I talked with my dealer, Herb and he said that he'd remove these stripes and order new ones... NO COST!!!! No big deal as far as I'm concerned...
So after what seemed to be the longest two weeks of my life, I drive my 2004 RX-8 on her last trip 90 miles straight to the dealership. As I pull up to the lot, I see a CGM sitting right out front and thought... that CAN'T be mine.... the dealer PROMISED she would be in the service department and sheltered from the elements!! AAAAAUUUUGGGHHHHH!!!!! Well, as it turns out, the one out front was a 2LT so Herb was in the clear.
I meet Herb and he takes me to see her.... SHE'S BEAUTIFUL!!! I sit in her and dream of the open roads.
Next thing is the paperwork which is taken care of rather quickly and I get the keys!!!
Herb then takes me out to run through the Onstar and XM setup, which was pretty quick. then he says, "Well, I guess you'd rather be driving than talking to me!" He was right... So off I go into my dream car....
