Without seeing picture's, I can only guess at what the spots look like and what's caused them. There could be any number of causes.

That being said, I'd recommend using a "cleaner wax" or similiar product which contains a very mild abrasive. It sounds like it could be something in the clear coat. You want to "cut" into it, but as minimally as possible. If that removes the spot(s), follow up with a good quality wax/polish.

"Wrinkles" makes me think of the damage done from bird droppings left on paint. I've seen this, and using the method stated above, I've been able to remove all the blemishes.
