Because then you just have a modded Camaro. Magnusen charges over $7K for one of their kits. It's not CARB certified for a 2013. It will cost another 2 - 3 thousand to install (provided someone else does it). Which puts you into ZL1 price range. Then you just threw your driveline warranty out the window.

True, but then you would also have a car that you customized to your liking, as opposed to just a stock ZL1.
I don't care about CARB certification. I never plan on living in CA.
Warranties are overrated
I was just making the point that, if someone just paid off a 40K car, what's the big rush to go out and blow 60K unless you've got money burning a hole in your pocket. Put 10K into the SS and you've got the same power as a ZL1. Yeah, it's not a ZL1, but you'd also have an extra 50K to play with.
