I decided to take a trip to the hardware store and see what I could find to fix this. I ended up with a Husky air compressor ball valve (sku# 252 140). Anything with a 1/4" NPT male thread will work. The simple easy to turn handle is a whole lot better than twisting the original threaded piece.

I used a bit of thread paste and 10 min later I was back in business. Check out the pictures below.

I will One Up You,
Install a barbed fitting in the catch can,
install a barbed fitting in the ball valve,
install a 2 foot hose between them
Mount the ball valve to your frame easily accessable while doing oil change.

Drain Catch can from under car.

Gain Extra storage space for collected oil by the volume of the hose.
