You might be able to get a Camaro with just as much horsepower as a Z06, but it will never be faster since the Z06 is so much lighter. And even if a top of the line Camaro did beat the base model vette it won't matter to someone that wants a vette. People buy them because it's a Corvette. And I'd bet that the 70+ more hp would barely be enough to cancel out the xtra 500lbs the car will probably have compared to the Corvette in the 1/4 mile.
