Remember the Pony Wars of the 1960s and 1970s? Imagine if the Trans Am series was reborn today. When I heard that AMT/Ertl was releasing a kit of the Camaro Concept Car, I was instantly inspired to build it into a modern-day Trans Am race car.
The most well-known Camaro from the 1960s Trans Am racing series is the 1969 Sunoco Roger Penske Z-28. I felt that special attention needed to be focused on painting and detailing of the model to really capture the "retro racer" theme.
