Advice to Supermans for road trip

I think what Superman's is saying is that no matter what he now is "stressed out" because he has this feeling at any time his tranny output shaft will snap. (He is concerned about this over the lifetime of his vehicle, even after the warranty expires, which is still a valid concern.)

I want to say based PURELY ON STATISTICS, I BET anything he probably has nothing to be worried about. VERY, VERY few cars have been reported with an actual broken shaft.

MANY people have come forward and said they have abused every inch of their car and nothing bad happened.

My advice is just to drive the car AS IF you were never told of any such problems and wait and see what happens. Pay your AAA bill and pay a little extra and get AAA PLUS because they will tow it for free as far as 100 miles if you have that. (If possible also follow the advice about not dumping the clutch at 6000, or excessively flogging it. NO CAR should experience a dumping of any clutch. Thats just asking to snap something, maybe even pop some springs out of the clutch disk, or damage the rear end differential.)

Ultimately "that's how it goes" if the tranny does break. It will be fixed though. Once more info is available later on, it will probably put everyone at ease. Once the official "fix" is well known.
