Saying Goodbye to my Camaro
I was recently transferred at work to a location that requires a 94 mile round trip everyday. I initially decided to keep the car and deal with the drive. My first month in position and I spent 320 dollars in fuel which just about ate up my raise. In order to keep my car I decided to move closer to work.
The houses in this area are much more expensive (and nicer) than what I currently have and the price of selling my house and buying a new one has forced a common sense decision. In order to break even on the budget, gotta trade her in and get something cheaper.
I am very lucky in that I owe the KB dealer trade in on my car and I have 4k in extra warranties that I cashed out.
I am saying goodbye on Tuesday with about 2k in positive equity thanks to the really good resale value of this car. I really enjoyed it and dont want to part, but the house is worth it and breaking even is better than most could hope for in this situation.
I have said goodbye to my mother this past year and now my car but good things are ahead.
Goodtimes with the Camaro! After Tuesday I will own my first non-V8 since 1998. Gonna be an adjustment!
