Ok guys I didn't get much help but I finally got the stock knob removed,the shaft is .558 in diameter and made of pre-hard cold roll.I was able to run a 1/2-20 die down 3/4 of an inch and now I have a beatiful black 2 1/4 round shift knob with the white 6spd pattern engraved in it $28.00 for the knob and about 1 hours work and what a difference in feel and looks!!! A vast improvement over the stock knob,go for it guys!!
