You may get a little better input concerning your issue over in the V-6 forum section, this is the ZL1 forums which may not have relevant info to help. It sound like it may be vapor lock but it would just be a guess.

It may help to check out your anti-theft system to make sure its not the issue but I would be only guessing. If you can on the next occurrence, remove the key and reinsert it and see if it cranks right away. Hope you get things figured out and resolved soon.
