Badge Delete Gave Me Trouble

So went ahead and started the badge delete and ran into some trouble I was not expecting.

After removing the badges and cleaning the black goo I found that I could clearly see where all of the badges were on the driver’s side, the passenger side came out perfect and the little SS on the back was flawless also, smooth as a babies butt.

Hand rubbed with wax with no improvement... looking close it appeared the paint was literally rippled where the badges were and I could see perfect outlines of the letters in the paint with absolutely no residue remaining from the glue.

Broke out the buffer and tried to hit it with polish… no improvement. Switched to some compound and was able to reduce the effect significantly… Stopped working it for now and waxed it back up.

Just was not expecting this at all, anyone else run into this and have a good solution other than my approach?
