I believe the OP's reason was to take the tires/wheels off to store them somewhere warm for the winter, thus the need to rest it on jack stands.

Goodyear issued a bulletin a long time ago regrading proper care of the ZL1 tires in which they stated, the tires should not be even STORED at temps below 20 degrees F.

I also take mine off for the winter and keep them in the basement.

Fortunately, I have an extra set of wheels/tires off my 2011 SS than I can put on while the car is in winter storage.
