Kind of off-topic, but actually JFTR 1st generation Corvettes "before" 1963 were the only ones with conventional trunks. Regardless, every generation Corvette EXCEPT the 3rd gen ('68-'82) has had the battery in the front on passenger or drivers side between the front wheel and firewall. The 3rd gen's was in a floor compartment behind the drivers seat.
EDIT: The C7's is thought to be rear mounted.
