You guys are all missing the point.

Who cares what tires and brakes you can put on this car and that car. Are the ZL1's brakes inadequate? No. They're better then 99% of ANY car on the road.

Are the tires on the Z28 better? Sure they are...on a TRACK. Have any of you ever driven a car with COLD race spec tires on the street? It can be down right scary..not to mention the tires would wear out very fast.

2x cars built for 2x different purposes.

The ZL1 is the STREET car that can still be used on the track.

The Z28 is the TRACK car that can still be used on the street.

Once you all get and understand the difference, it makes perfect sense.

You can throw Toyo Proxes R888's on a 2010 Cobalt SS/TC and im sure it would be a lot faster then it would with the factory tires it came with...but thats not the point...it didnt come with that.

The ZL1 you all love and enjoy now was supposed to be the Z28...but like Al Openheiser said himself...it didnt deserve the legendary name plate Z28.

You dont have to like it...if you prefer the ZL1, buy the ZL1. The people who want to go really fast on a track and not worry about voiding there warranty by modifying there ZL1's and SS/1LE's to increase the power/braking/handling will gladly scoop this new Z28 up.
