Perhaps they've changed the design (leaks were common), but when I got my JBA short's about 2yrs ago the end of the header had a flat flange. You had to cut down the catted midpipe and weld on a matching flange to the front end.
The midpipe and short header were then held together with a V-clamp. See post #81 this thread. Doug Thorley's short header is similar, but they just weld up to the shortened midpipe- perhaps JBA has decided that's the best way to go if you're not gonna provide a traditional "bolt together" flange like they do for their V8 headers.
