I wonder if there would be any benefit to unlocking it at the track. I know my converter never locked at WOT; it was a pretty big stall though (well, compared to the stock converter). Now that you mention it, it seems like that is the norm' for many of the GM cars I've driven lately. My wife's 'Bu with the 3.6 locks at WOT after getting into 3rd, if I remember right, and the rental I have now, with the 2.X liter does the same. Hmm
