Walk the course, get there early. Walk it again. Never try to set your fastest lap on the first run. Seat time is the most important for new drivers.
At some point it'll 'click' for you. At that point you start using techniques like imagining a string tied to the bottom of the steering wheel and the big toe of your right foot. As you give it gas, you straighten the wheel. As you ease up on the gas you can turn more. Even the experienced pros will go out and walk the course multiple times.
