It'll be capable for towing but remember that GM is marketing this primarily as a sport truck. Something that you throw some gear into the bed and head off to the mountains.
Even though most people will just use it for trips to Home Depot.
If you go to a dealer and tell them you need to tow, they'll probably steer you to a Silverado right off the bat.
