So this morning around 4am I drove through a decent sized puddle that I didn't even see. Immediately after my exhaust note got louder, its backfiring louder and more frequently, the traction control seemed to not be operating properly, and the car feels like it is down on torque. However the idle is fine, gauges read correctly, no hesitation, and the RPMs are correct. I shut the car off for a few seconds and started it up again, then I shut it off for about 30 minutes, and then I left it alone for about 12 hours. Still having the same problems. I took it for a nice long drive alternating between high RPMs (65-70 MPH in 4th gear) to low RPMs hoping to clear it out and nope...my efforts were futile. I even tried taking my shifts in 1st and 2nd to redline, no help with that. Visual inspection this evening and right after driving through the puddle showed no signs of moisture or wetness anywhere under the hood, not even in the Vararam intake. Is it possible that some water got in the HF cats? Because if it were a spark plug or wire issue, then my idle would be rough as well...right? Idle is smooth as hell. Maybe water got sucked into the muffler and is in the baffles or perforations? I don't know. This has never happened with any other car. Advice?

Have you tried scanning it?
Maybe something came loose near the intake or PCV or MAFS.
