The idea is just to get any metal shavings out of it from it being new. My car did seem to get some more peep out of it after I did the oil change. Almost has me thinking of doing it again tomorrow when it goes in for more testing. It has 3400 miles on it now.
Maybe you'd be able to spin the tires if you had waited until 1500 miles :-P
