All SS have the badge in the front grill. It's a difference of its color that will tell that it has the RS package or not (that's assuming you haven't already figured that out by seeing or not seeing the halo rings).

And back to the RS package on the SS; it's a $1,200 upgrade vs $1,450 on the LT. Personally if I were to get a LT the RS package is a must have. You get plenty to justify the extra cost. On the SS I don't think it's worth it. I wouldn't mind having the HID but they are not a must and I'm actually getting to where I don't like them as well (just a personal choice - don't flame me). The drip railing in my opinion is also not worth it and the tail lights are near impossible to distinguish unless you have a the two different ones side by side (even then it's not that noticable). Basically you need to determine if you want the HID lights for the extra $1,200. For me....I'm saving the $1,200 and not buying the RS on my SS.
